David Koung Peng

David is a North Carolinian-born, second generation Chinese American based in Los Angeles, California.

Having parents who are both chefs, David has lived the majority of his life in restaurants and has a deep appreciation for food and food culture. He is a firm believer that meals are meant to be shared with family and friends and this philosophy of togetherness has molded him into the person he is today.

David is a former restaurateur with a Bachelor of Science in Finance (University of North Carolina Greensboro, 2014) and an Associate in Applied Science in Photographic Technology / Commericial Photography (RCC, 2018).

"My journey into food photography really began when I watched both my mom and dad cook, my fascination with the art of food grew. It was through these memories that I realized the power of photography in capturing not just flavors but also the emotions and stories behind each dish. I embarked on a journey to document the beauty and essence of food, experimenting with lighting, angles, and composition to create visually compelling narratives."
